rss2email for mediawiki changes feed that requieres authentication

Hi

at work we have a private mediawiki installation that requieres
authentication and i'm searching for a solution to automatically fetch
the changes rss feed and distribute it via email to my colleagues.
in the progress i stumbled across rss2email but i can't get it to work
with the authentication.

so my question: is there a easy solution or do i have to do some coding
and rewrite rss2email myself?

PS:i do not have direct access to the wiki server so modifying the wiki is not
really an option
