mailinglists and mailclient usage?

Hey debian-user@ !

(basic question)
I was wondering, if i handle the mailinglist threads, the correct way.

So, i find a thread and i select the message that i want to reply to..
(the thread was created by, lets say, example@examplemail and the one
that wrote something i like to comment on was lets say,ex@ex)

I press "Reply" in my mailclient (evolution btw) and i get the ex@ex in
the "To:" field. i change that to something@lists.debian.org...

Is that the way to do it?!

I belive someone had commented on my way of using the mailinglist a
while ago..

Just wanted to know!
