not giving it the kernel image name.  what the original poster is
trying to say is that you need to type "Linux bf24", not just "bf24".
if you were just trying to do the normal boot floppy thing, you'd just
say "Linux" (equivalent to just hitting enter); "bf24" is a boot
option you pass to lilo that tells it to use the boot floppy 2.4
kernel.
