long term yes depends how hot it actually is. I prefer to
make my systems cooling so the drives are at BEST warm to
the touch, i try to get to the point where they are cool or
even cold to touch.

A couple years ago i had 2 quantum 4.5GB scsi drives sitting
next to each other with no direct cooling on them, during
the summer the system would spit out tons of SCSI errors until
i seperated the drives.

now if you have a good cooling mechanism for this drive I wouldn't
worry, I reccomend something along the lines of this:

(i have never ordered from that comapny before, but that
particular cooler has been very hard for me to find since
my local dealer stopped carrying it)

if you had something such as that i would not worry about
heat.

if its just the bare drive and no fans, or no heat sink then
i would worry
