installing libgd-perl

Hi!

I would like to use GD library thru perl routines and could as easily
install it as it is but i still wonder why the poor thing depends on
xfree86-common.

http://packages.debian.org/testing/x11/xfree86-common.html says:

xfree86-common contains the filesystem infrastructure required for further
installation of the X Window System in any configuration.

Installations goes like this

atel:/home/ajut# apt-get install libgd-perl
Reading Package Lists... Done
Building Dependency Tree... Done
The following extra packages will be installed:
  libgd1 xfree86-common xlibs
The following NEW packages will be installed:
  libgd-perl libgd1 xfree86-common xlibs
0 packages upgraded, 4 newly installed, 0 to remove and 2 not upgraded.
Need to get 2065kB of archives. After unpacking 7086kB will be used.
Do you want to continue? [Y/n] n
