Cannot determine ethernet address for proxy ARP <---- possible problem?
local IP address 10.10.10.11
remote IP address 10.10.10.10
Script /etc/ppp/ip-up started (pid 1750)
Script /etc/ppp/ip-up finished (pid 1750), status = 0x0

--

that happens after i execute the fillowing script

--

exec /usr/sbin/pppd modem debug -detach lock crtscts /dev/ttyS1 \
57600 asyncmap 0 \
nomagic connect "exec /usr/sbin/chat -v \
TIMEOUT 3 \
ABORT '\nBUSY\r' \
ABORT '\nNO CARRIER \r' \
'' \rAT \
'' \rATX3 '' \rAT '' \rAT\&F \
'OK-+++\c-OK' ATH0 \
TIMEOUT 30 \
OK ATDI0810391330 \
CONNECT '' \
ogin:--ogin: pppuser \
ssword: ass"

--

my /etc/ppp/options at the client-->

lock
asyncmap 0
mtu 552
mru 552
modem
/dev/ttyS1
netmask 255.255.255.0
10.10.10.11:10.10.10.10
proxyarp
defaultroute
crtscts
debug
-detach

and almost the same at the server with 'passive' among them...
no auth no pap no chap just normal login without authentification that is
so i guess i am connected right???

also with ifconfig i see

ppp0 Link encap:Point-to-Point Protocol
          inet addr:10.10.10.11 P-t-P:10.10.10.10 Mask:255.255.255.255
UP POINTOPOINT RUNNING NOARP MULTICAST MTU:552 Metric:1
          RX packets:18 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
          TX packets:18 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
          collisions:0 txqueuelen:3
          RX bytes:240 (240.0 b) TX bytes:240 (240.0 b)

question:does the NOARP in line 3 mean something...

apart that..

/sbin/route :

Kernel IP routing table
Destination Gateway Genmask Flags Metric Ref Use Iface
10.10.10.10 * 255.255.255.255 UH 0 0 0 ppp0
default 10.10.10.10 0.0.0.0 UG 0 0 0 ppp0

so in the end i'm all happy and stuff and i try to ping the remote host
... but nothing....silence from the other side....also i try telnet,
ftp...ping another host through the remote host but nothing...i juct can't
'see' the remote host...?

any ideassssssssss????????????????????????i'm desparate........
