It looks like your linux system is set up okay. (Confirm that it's
okay by using "ifconfig" to dump the interfaces the kernel knows
about).  What about your windows box?

A couple of quick questions:

Is the link light on for each connected port on the hub?

If not, then you may have a problem with 10/100 Mbps NICs.

If all the necessary link lights are on, then look at the
configuration of your windows machine via control panel->network. Set
it's ip address statically to something on 192.168.1.0 ; look at the
routing results via "route print" - the 192.168.1.0 net should be
there. Try pinging from windows->linux and linux->windows.

If the above does not work then you may have a problem with the linux
network driver and the NIC in the linux box. What is the name of your
card?
