Must be.
$ dpkg -S libdb # note: much output snipped
libc6: /lib/libdb.so.2
libdb2: /lib/libdb.so.3
libdb3-dev: /usr/lib/libdb.so
You probably want one or more of these packages installed. (libdb3-dev)
BTW, why do you want to compile glade 0.5.5? Woody has version 0.6.2
both with and without GNOME support.
