dpkg-repack

Hola.
El otro día mirando entre la lista de paquetes de la debian hamm me encontré
con un paquete que parece interesante y del que me extraña no haber oido
nada hasta ahora.

Lo comento aquí por si alguien no lo conocía y le parece interesante:
Package: dpkg-repack
Priority: optional
Section: admin
Installed-Size: 19
Maintainer: Joey Hess <joeyh@master.debian.org>
Architecture: all
Version: 0.16
Depends: perl (>= 5.004)
Filename: dists/stable/main/binary-i386/admin/dpkg-repack_0.16.deb
Size: 7108
MD5sum: 4e93d8553f618ad1bfc568ec75163141
Description: attempts to put an unpacked .deb file back together
dpkg-repack creates a .deb file out of a debian package that has already
been installed. If any changes have been made to the package while it was
unpacked (ie, files in /etc were modified), the new package will inherit
the changes.
.
This utility can make it easy to copy packages from one computer to
another,
or to recreate packages that are installed on your system, but no longer
available elsewhere, or to store the current state of a package before you
upgrade it.

A mi se me ocurren varios usos además de los que se cuenta en la
descripción.
