Bug#191162: mktexpk: segfaults

Hi,
Looks like you solved this problem. You were right mktexpk should have
been a shell script. In my case it was not because the package
libkpathsea-perl was installed which replace the shell script. It was
this package that was causing the problems. Once I removed the package
mktexpk does not segfault. Even better dvisvga works perfectly too. It
generates the pk-files and displays all glyphs too. Thank you very much
for your efforts. Please let me know what you would like me to do. If
you think I must report this bug to libkpathsea-perl developers or if
you will forward it to them.

BTW: There is another problem I wonder if you would have some idea
about. This pertains to a very odd behaviour of the console, paticularly
if one uses svgalib based apps. What happens is the console for no
apparent reason flashes on and off i.e. periodically blanks out
completely. This problem started after I upgraded tetex and dvisvga
recently .
I have seen a similar problem on redhat where it is more serious. If I
login to an xsession and while also working on one of the virtual
console some times I see the flashing behaviour on the console too. But
in this case it ends in the Xserver dying. I don't like or use redhat
but am forced to at my work place. However since this problems seems to
be begining on debian I would like to report it . However I have no idea
which package is causing this problem. Should you have some insight into
this I would be very gratefull.

Sincerely
B Thomas
