Re: problem with hostname
Hi,
its inpossible to get write access for many files in /etc:
-----------------------------------
(none):~# cat /etc/hostname
cat: /etc/hostname: Keine Berechtigung
(none):~# cd /etc/
(none):/etc# ls -la | grep host
ls: vim: Keine Berechtigung
ls: xml: Keine Berechtigung
ls: bastille-tmpdir-defense.sh: Keine Berechtigung
...
ls: ld.so.conf.old: Keine Berechtigung
-rw-rwxr-- 1 root root 26 1995-09-26 05:20 host.conf
-rw-rwx--- 1 root root 340 2005-05-21 04:07 hosts
...
----------------------------------
"Keine Berechtigung" means permission denied. But Im root on this
machine. Sometimes I get another error message like this:
----------------
(none):~# vim /etc/hostname
ReiserFS: hda1 warning: vs-13075: reiserfs_read_locked_inode: dead inode
read from disk [10 9156 0x0 SD]. This is likely to be raced with kfsd.
Ignore
vim: /etc/hostname: Keine Berechtigung
-----------------
Is that an HDD error?
Thanks,
Sergiy
