The basic toolchain bits for example are long upstream. I'm building
powerpc64le-linux targeted stage1 cross-compilers from unpatched
upstream sources since August 8th, 2013:

(Please notice that the failed builds are usually due to unrelated
changes. Ppc64le is only one of a lot of targets I'm building for.)
