benh-kernel wants binutils 2.12.1 for compiling

Hi all

I'm trying to set up a new benh-kernel and got the sources via rsync
just fine but after configuring the kernel I get an error on make-kpkg:

Thing is I'm running Sarge and aptitude tells me my binutils are
2.15-5...

Any Ideas?
