Apple uses the 5x version IMHO. They used to use the 5x version and
they keep the design and layout even if they don't use 3rd level cache now.
This is propably not the cheapest solutions but the easiest and it makes
it easier for Apple to add 3rd level cache to ibook/powerbook in the future.
