I bought the CD's as official Debian Binaries Potato 2.2r3, no other
Software in the game because it was at install from CD during the
ramdisk-phase (execute a shell ...), but probably grep is broken in
that release ... :-(

I thought this too. The more I was surprised, and that's the reason I
mentioned it in my mail ;-)-

No it _was_ on /dev/hdb ...

Yes ... (otherwise nobody needs yaboot and so on ;-) )

That hits it, I think that was the circumstance I neglected ...

That's a long story but I think it the simple explanation is:
1. I'm anesthesiologist with wired up brain with
2. no real Apple experience (how to get?!?) despite using them for
round 10 years and
3. just one year linux autodidactically at the countryside where I
work and live and with the lists help therefore a
big THANK YOU to all ;-)))
