i really recommend using the one from sid. the version in potato is
known to have problems with recent OpenFirmare.

then your yaboot.conf has something bogus in it. or else your grep is
very broken.

where is your bootstrap partition?  its obviously /dev/hda so your
boot-device is correct.  boot-device only knows about the bootstrap
partiiton NOT your root partition or anything else.

that would mean your bootstrap partition has to be on the slave disk,
not recommended, it doesn't work right generally.
