use debsums to find the packages that are broken, and
apt-get --reinstall install them. (or
grep -l '^[\./]*bin/' /var/lib/dpkg/info/*.list | # find pkgs with file in /bin
sed -e sX/var/lib/dpkg/info/XX -e 'sX\.list$XX' | # strip down to pkg name
xargs apt-get --reinstall install # reinstall them.
BTW, you'll need to manually download grep and sed packages, since they
live in /bin! :( Or you could do it with perl.
