(YMMV blah blah blah) >: have had the same experiences, quik-1.3.1 booted 2.2.15, but not the following newer ones. hmm.. a short look at a diff between 2.2.15pre14-stable and 2.2.17pre13-ben2, regarding arch/ppc/kernel/head.S convinced me to try a kernel config with this option: # CONFIG_BOOTX_TEXT is not set and what should I say, quik did it with 2.2.17 :))) it seems a little bit too easy, don't know the standart dot.config for debian kernel releases, but perhaps it's not restricted to this machine.
