So be it; I'd rather that than have valid bugs closed by well meaning
but misguided non-maintainers closing genuine bugs.

Wield (?) them out by all means, and ask the maintainer to close them,
but the maintainer should be the one closing bugs, not some random
individual on a clean up crusade.
