RFS: galinette

Dear mentors,

I am looking for a sponsor for my package "galinette".

* Package name    : galinette
  Version         : 1.1-1
  Upstream Author : Boris Lechner <boris.lechner.dev@gmail.com>
* URL             : http://galinette.sourceforge.net
* License         : GPL
  Section         : utils

It builds these binary packages:
galinette - GUI for communicating with Flymaster® B1 avionics devices
galinette-nox - CLI for communicating with Flymaster® B1 avionics devices
libgalinette-dev - Library for communicating with Flymaster® B1 avionics devices
libgalinette0 - Library for communicating with Flymaster® B1 avionics devices

The package is lintian pedantic clean.

The upload would fix these bugs: 598499

My motivation for maintaining this package is: I own and use one of
these devices. I would like to see the package available in Debian and
its variants. I am also working with the upstream author to improve
the package. Indeed this package may have a VERY small audience, but I
would still like to see it available in the main repository.

The package can be found on mentors.debian.net:
- URL: http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/g/galinette
- Source repository: deb-src http://mentors.debian.net/debian unstable
main contrib non-free
- dget http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/g/galinette/galinette_1.1-1.dsc

The VCS is web browsable at the following address:
http://github.com/pmcenery/galinette-debian

I'm not sure the package is ready for upload just yet. In particular,
I am having trouble eliminating excessive linking brought about by
cmake. In particluar, I am getting the following warnings:

[...]
dpkg-shlibdeps: warning: dependency on libftdi.so.1 could be avoided
if "debian/galinette-nox/usr/bin/galinette-flash" were not uselessly
linked against it (they use none of its symbols).

[..]

I have done some investigation, and it appears that cmake has
automatically added some of these without any good reason. Hopefully a
mentor with some cmake experience can help me eliminate these issues
(despite them not being a specific packaging issue)...

Regards,
Paul.
