Well, it is very big... I like to understand what's happening when
building a program, and therefore eclipse is a bit too complex for my
own needs, but occasionally, I use it for teaching.

I use a single Makefile and a collection of scripts for the different
building stages and cleanup of the Knoppix file system, and build the
whole thing just with "make" and standard bash commandline. No GUI here.
Some of the few special knoppix-packages are built with the
debian-helpers (dpkg-buildpackage, dh_make, dch) and are located in an
SVN repository. The final packages go to
http://debian-knoppix.alioth.debian.org/

When creating and maintaining a new special edition branch, I use rsync
for syncing parts or all, locally and remotely.
