Bug#395526: sl-modem-daemon: slmodemd dies silently at boot if module slamr is already loaded

I posted this bug against the sl-modem-daemon package because I consider
a nice behaviour to check for a sane environment before doing things in
scripts. But this is only an opinion.
Anyway, sorry for this controversy.

Maximilian, please consider that I was posting to the sl-modem-daemon
bug list: the files you asked for are the shipped versions, unmodified;
the only difference is that I have MODULES=dep in initramfs.conf in
order to reduce the size of the initrd.

update-initramfs -u -v only outputs "/boot/initrd.img-2.6.18-1-686 has
been altered. Cannot update." on STDERR.

As far as I can see that option blindly adds all the modules matching
the hardware in use (or the currently loaded modules?) to the initrd: I
have a very similar problem with ipw2200, a module that needs a firmware
and all is needed to deal with it, therefore it can't be simply added to
the initrd along with its dependencies.

Is there a way to add a sort of blacklist to initramfs-tools? This could
well be a solution you can give.

Thank you very much

Mau
