I don't understand how it's a QT problem when all the other apps are having
no problem....and add to that the fact that kword is not even a beta release.

I would imagine the problem is in kword...but I have been proven wrong
before. :)

that damn pure_virtual problem with the GL'd qt package. Something with
compiling in OpenGL causes it to also suck in the pure_virtual problem
from time to time.

You might try all of this with the normal QT package as even the KDE folks
recommend not compiling in GL support...thus the reason why the talk directly
to the GL libs for the screensavers instead of using the QT gl support.

no clue on this part...as I said above and to consolidate it all:

1: the koffice packages are not even beta. I originally chose to follow
the CVS tree for koffice as it was better than the older packages although
constantly changing..it also included kivio and other things.

2: Your using the GL enabled QT package. Upstream does recommend using
the GL stuff as it usually pulls in other anomilies such as threaded
GL libraries which cause random crashes. At least this is the way it
was a while back. I only provide the GL enabled QT package for those
who requested it for specific apps. For a KDE standpoint I don't
recommend them and would rather people not use them.
