ho cercato sul man di pppd la stringa tcgetattr ma non c'e' nulla
(penso sia un funzione C o di un altro linguaggio di programmazione)
quindi non so che pensare

la debian 2.1/prosa e' distribuita con il kernel 2.0.36
io invece ho ricompilato il kernel 2.2.10
intanto provo a cercarmi un pppd aggiornato
ma forse e' meglio che aggiunga un particolare non indifferente
da DOS/WINDOWS con i soliti programmi di terminale, cioe' quelli che
permettono di inviare al modem i comandi AT, se invio la striga
ATDT0498282008
il modem da bravo "stupido" compone il numero anche se il modem e'
sconnesso dalla linea telefonica
sotto Linux invece con Minicom ed equivalenti il modem non da segni di
vita
cmq questi sono i due files che mi avevi chiesto
di /etc/chatscripts/tin ne ho mandato le due versioni che ho fatto
ma nessuna delle due funziona
