For 4 weeks I have gotten my four new 1 TByte HDD's and installed my
new Denian mirror by copying it from the OLD SCSI 147 GByte HDD's.

After verifying the new mirror I have tried to delete the whole old
mirror (all releases fro, Bo to Sid, "archive" ).

It took over (!!!) 40 minutes to remove 3.6 TByte of Debian packages.

And this in a ext3.

I have seen the same effect on my FileServer with PATA disks.
Using an old 2.4.18 (from Woody) is MUCH faster. It seems,
that under Woody/2.4.18 it deletes only the entry in the
superblock but not it delete each file itself.

Thanks, Greetings and nice Day
