Drivel - seeking new translators.

http://lists.debian.org/debian-i18n/2009/08/msg00102.html

However, a lot of the those translators are no longer active, so I'm
happy for anyone to take over even existing translations.

ar.po: 28 translated messages, 186 fuzzy translations, 35 untranslated messages.
bg.po: 214 translated messages, 22 fuzzy translations, 13 untranslated messages.
ca.po: 209 translated messages, 26 fuzzy translations, 14 untranslated messages.
dz.po: 218 translated messages, 21 fuzzy translations, 10 untranslated messages.
el.po: 218 translated messages, 21 fuzzy translations, 10 untranslated messages.
es.po: 218 translated messages, 21 fuzzy translations, 10 untranslated messages.
fi.po: 218 translated messages, 21 fuzzy translations, 10 untranslated messages.
fr.po: 218 translated messages, 21 fuzzy translations, 10 untranslated messages.
it.po: 214 translated messages, 23 fuzzy translations, 12 untranslated messages.
lt.po: 204 translated messages, 26 fuzzy translations, 19 untranslated messages.
nb.po: 121 translated messages, 58 fuzzy translations, 70 untranslated messages.
ne.po: 218 translated messages, 21 fuzzy translations, 10 untranslated messages.
nl.po: 187 translated messages, 38 fuzzy translations, 24 untranslated messages.
no.po: 121 translated messages, 58 fuzzy translations, 70 untranslated messages.
oc.po: 61 translated messages, 9 fuzzy translations, 179 untranslated messages.
pa.po: 78 translated messages, 51 fuzzy translations, 120 untranslated messages.
pl.po: 208 translated messages, 26 fuzzy translations, 15 untranslated messages.
pt_BR.po: 218 translated messages, 22 fuzzy translations, 9 untranslated messages.
ru.po: 214 translated messages, 23 fuzzy translations, 12 untranslated messages.
rw.po: 18 translated messages, 160 fuzzy translations, 71 untranslated messages.
sq.po: 51 translated messages, 139 fuzzy translations, 59 untranslated messages.
sr.po: 55 translated messages, 102 fuzzy translations, 92 untranslated messages.
sr@Latn.po: 55 translated messages, 102 fuzzy translations, 92 untranslated messages.
th.po: 135 translated messages, 13 fuzzy translations, 101 untranslated messages.
vi.po: 218 translated messages, 21 fuzzy translations, 10 untranslated messages.
zh_CN.po: 209 translated messages, 26 fuzzy translations, 14 untranslated messages.
zh_HK.po: 210 translated messages, 22 fuzzy translations, 17 untranslated messages.
zh_TW.po: 210 translated messages, 22 fuzzy translations, 17 untranslated messages.

33 translations: ar bg ca cs de dz el es fi fr it ja lt nb ne nl no oc pa pl pt pt_BR ru rw sq sr sr@Latn sv th vi zh_CN zh_HK zh_TW. 28 are out of date.

Those that are up to date are:
cs, de, ja, pt and sv.

Anyone who wants to pick up any of these translations, please do so without delay.

I'm sending individual PO files to the relevant language teams at debian directly.

Interestingly, of the 5 translations that have been updated, 4 are from Debian teams:

$ grep debian po/*.po
po/cs.po:"Language-Team: Czech <debian-l10n-czech@lists.debian.org>\n"
po/pt.po:"Language-Team: Portuguese <traduz@debianpt.org>\n"
po/ru.po:"Language-Team: Russian <debian-l10n-russian@lists.debian.org>\n"
po/sv.po:"Language-Team: Swedish <debian-l10n-swedish@lists.debian.org>\n"

Is there a good way to work out the mailing lists for this list of locales?

ar bg ca dz el es fi fr it lt nb ne nl no oc pa pl pt_BR ru rw sq sr sr@Latn th vi zh_CN zh_HK zh_TW

(I can work out one or two like debian-i18n-french@ but I'd like an
automated way of doing them all or a complete list on a webpage
somewhere.)

I've got this list:
http://lists.debian.org//completeindex.html

What I lack is which locale matches which list. It would be handy if
the pages for each of those lists identified the locale itself.

Some that don't have debian lists (AFAICT):
bg, dz, lt, nb, ne, no, oc, pa, pt_BR, rw, sq, sr@Latn, th, vi, zh*

Thought about sending pt_BR to pt but is that good etiquette?

The problem with --addlanguageteam=LANGUAGE:LIST is that I have to know
the list, I can't specify just the locale. It would be helpful if this
could be done - also a way of *not* sending to the Last-Translator (as
this would be the second post when the first has already been ignored).

Does podebconf-report-po know which debian list is used for each
locale? (i.e. when the Last-Translator is already set, so that
podebconf would have to override this value.)

Which list do I use for sr@Latn and zh_* or for locales like ar, ?

I've now had to type this command line:

$ podebconf-report-po --podir po/ --call --withouttranslators --addlanguageteam ar:debian-l10n-arabic@lists.debian.org --addlanguageteam ca:debian-l10n-catalan@lists.debian.org --addlanguageteam el:debian-l10n-greek@lists.debian.org  --addlanguageteam es:debian-l10n-spanish@lists.debian.org --addlanguageteam fi:debian-l10n-finnish@lists.debian.org --addlanguageteam fr:debian-l10n-french@lists.debian.org --addlanguageteam it:debian-l10n-italian@lists.debian.org --addlanguageteam nl:debian-l10n-dutch@lists.debian.org --addlanguageteam pl:debian-l10n-polish@lists.debian.org --addlanguageteam ru:debian-l10n-russian@lists.debian.org

Hmm, there should be easier ways of doing that.
:-)
