If I was you, I would be adapting the software to run with current CGI::Session (4). The last release of the 3.x series is from 2003 and as far as I see, upstream doesn't seem to support a separate branch. The last Debian release with 3.x was sarge. http://search.cpan.org/dist/CGI-Session/ Alternatively, a tiny emulation module may be appropriate too.
