I think it's reasonable if you consider the implications of leaving your
session open in the first place.  It might be better to be clear about
that than to hide it, so that (for example) you can be reminded to log
out if you receive guests.

(Use case: doorbell rings.  User B logs out, and gets up to open door.
User B notices what's on the screen and says, "Hey, User A, you still
have a session open".  User A comes and logs out.  User B opens door,
and it turns out to be the FBI who come and take the computer away.
Oh well.)
