I do not believe, however, that Debian should provide such a public open repository due to limited resources which could and should be better spent elsewhere. In fact, I strongly doubt you would get the ftp maintainers to go along with such a system even if Debian as a whole agreed with the idea. Given the reaction on the list by everyone (I believe...) who has chosen to respond I doubt you would be able to convince most of the maintainers your idea is sound to begin with. Stephen
