There is a big difference between bochs and plex86. Bochs emulates the CPU, plex86 virtualizes it. That means that bochs emulates every instruction, plex86 emulates only the privileged instructions and all other instructions are just executed as normal. In theory plex86 should be much faster, but it can only run on IA-32.
