Intent To Package: GLE 3.3h

Hi,
i intent to package GLE (Graphics Language Editor) , a nifty little
graphics program to create graphics interactively and from scripts. From
the readme (gle.txt):

GLE is a high quality graphics package for scientists,
combining a user friendly interface with a full range of
facilities for producing publication quality graphs,
     diagrams, posters and slides.
	 .
GLE provides LaTeXquality fonts together with a flexible
graphics module which allows the user to specify any
feature of a graph (down to the line width of the subticks,
     for example)
	 .
Complex pictures can be drawn with user defined subroutines
     and simple looping structures.
	 .
Current device drivers support DECWINDOWS, REGIS, TEK4010,
all PC graphics cards, VT100s, HP-Plotters, PostScript
Printers, EPSON Printers and LaserJet Printers.
	 .
GLE runs on both VAXes and PCs, giving an identical user
     interface on both platforms.

The source package is downloadble from Sunsite UNC
(/pub/Linux/science/vis...). However, i didn't find a copyright note in
the source so i contacted the original author (Chris Pugmire
<chrisp@netwinsite.com>) who replied immediately and in very friendly
manner. He said that this program was indeed in the Public Domain and
he wished luck to create the package. On demand he is willing to create a
valid copyright note.
One question: the linux port was made by a person called Axel Rohde
whos email address (rohde@physik.uni-kiel.d400.de) is outdated. I don't
exactly know which changes he made. Do i need also his permission to
release this package?

  Greetings.

  Holger
