Hmmm... I've not been following the details of this, but... what are you
using to compile glibc 2.1? gcc or egcs?

Also, the other day, at the local LUG meeting, I was talking with a die hard
Slackware user, and he says X runs faster when compiled with glibc 2.1... is
that true? If so... why?
