I've seen that happen when I set a default signing user in
~/.gnupg/options and used debsign.  You can get the same effect using
two -u options.  IMHO this is a bug somewhere either in debsign or gpg
or both.  It's at least a bug in gpg that gpg can't handle its own
output.
