If you can't configure it properly (and apparently don't understand it),
don't use it. (Hint: you can configure it to wrap outgoing messages at
e.g. column 250. I know this, and I don't even use it.)

Have you contemplated another MUA? Try balsa. (And you have the source
if you're not satisfied with it as-is.)

And please no CC: (which should go without saying).
