unixODBC and postgresql

I just updated PostgreSQL to the latest version in woody, installed
unixODBC and threw away my locally installed unixodbc version. I know I
shouldn't have done this. :-)

Now I cannot connect to my databases anymore. SQLConnect() is not able to
connect to the remote socket. I did create the complete ini file anew to no
avail. Just the same message again.

Is this setup working for anyone out there? Gheez I need some data out of
this DB.
