SolusOS
My name is Ikey Doherty. I presented myself here before in alpha stage
of SolusOS.
I would like people to know that its now at Release Candidate 3.
I have introduced some things traditionally not found in Debian.

This tool is run the first time you start your desktop, its a simple
wizard that helps
you to configure system updates, firewall, and automatically install
the correct video
drivers.
New Applications - Older Base
=============================
SolusOS is based on Debian Stable, but many packages are backported for
it.
For instance we have Firefox and Thunderbird 11, VLC 2.0 and
LibreOffice 3.5.1, amongst
other things.
The Future

Gnome 3 (modified) mem usage:

Gnome 3 (modified)firefox and Gnome 2 like panel:

We will obviously switch to Gnome 3 when we rebase on Wheezy. However
I've also made it quite
possible to have a Gnome 2 experience with no extensive hacking. When I
have some alphas up
I do not mind sharing my work and patches with the Debian packagers.
As most are aware I do not use the Debian Installer. As odd as this
sounds, its not required for a LiveCD.
The current version is written in Python and I will rewrite it in Vala.
Some initial concept work:

I would like to know where Debian's interest link with those of
SolusOS, and how I can help port
these techniques etc. upstream.
Kind Regards,
Ikey Doherty
