【DPL 選舉的投票通知】 Debian 計畫秘書於日前[4]發出本年度 Debian
計畫領袖（DPL）選舉的第一次投票通知。候選人於選票上的次序是隨機選定的，投?
慾H可以在選票上選擇自己支持各候選人的順序。投票時，選票必須以 GnuPG（或是
PGP）簽署，並於 UTC 時間2003年03月29日 23:59:59

【測試 GCC 3.3】 Matthias Klose [10]希望大家可以幫忙測試新的 GNU Compiler
Collection（GCC）3.3 在編譯各式各樣程式時動作是否正常。GCC 3.3

【Sarge 的發行時程？】 Anthony Towns [12]提到一些 Debian
馬上就要面對的問題。在 glibc 成功地從 unstable 整合到 testing
中後，他想瞭解 debian-installer
是否已經到達一個可以接受的狀態。如果還沒，要讓它（或其它程式）到達可以發行
的程度還有什麼工作要完成，而這些工作要多久的時間才能完成？Anthony

Debian 系統中使用 qmail 的方法。文中說明在數種情形下設定 Qmail

Debian。他先將 Lindows 從硬碟中清除，然後安裝 Debian
3.0（woody）。不過，他遇到了一些硬體不相容的狀況，所以後來他把系統升級為

套件的重要性如何，方法之一是看看依存於（depend
on）它的套件數量有多少。他的研究顯示 88%
的套件和六個以下的套件間有相依性。不過，Fabio Massimo Di Nitto
[30]指出這種方式會忽略掉 Essential 程度的套件。Anthony Towns
則[31]說有些套件因為他們提供相同的功能（例如
mail-transport-agent），所以沒有太多套件依存於它們，但事實上它們的重要性是
相同的。

【新的試驗性 PPP 套件】 Russell Coker [37]說他製作了新的試驗性質的 PPP

【新的 OpenLDAP 2.1 預覽版】 Torsten Landschoff [39]宣佈 OpenLDAP 2.1
第一版試驗性的可安裝套件包已經[40]開放下載了。在把新的 OpenLDAP 上傳到
unstable 之前還有許多工作要完成，例如現在無法從舊版升級，且更改設定時須
要先把舊的目錄（directory）移除。不過，這個套件安裝起來似乎沒有什麼問題

【GnuMICR 字型授權方式的澄清】 Eric Sandeen [41]提到他的 GnuMICR
字型套件的授權方式有些不太清楚的地方。所以，他在套件的文件中加上說明，明白
指出該套件使用 GNU [42]General Public License（GPL）。Branden Robinson
[43]指出該文件有些含糊之處似乎為該套件加上了 GPL 之外的限制。Branden
