As mentioned by Ansgar (who worked on xz compression in a lot of packages) on #d-r earlier: 23:36:21 [ ansgar] KiBi: Wouldn't switching to xz for priority: important packages break the (very uncommon) debootstrap on a system where no xz is available? 23:37:08 [ ansgar] I was avoiding those packages to not potentially break things for wheezy. So maybe postpone that until it's been discussed in depth? As can be seen in my first mail, there's not much to gain anyway. Mraw, KiBi.
