You mention you picked French. I guess that was the language. However,
after the country question, you should have been prompted with a choice
for your keymap. Haven't you?
Yes, i selected the default french keymap, and when i had to type my user which is andre
My a was a q and it's the reason for this install report even if the langage menus were corrects ( in french )
Perhaps it's my virtualbox wich is on a debian squeeze 64, il will redo an install now
