So I have redone the installation of the debian-LennyBeta2-amd64-KDE-CD-1.iso using the standard (non-expert) graphical installer (as it was done on the first time - I wonder if there is a link...) Answer to the side note: I just tried debian-LennyBeta2-i386-CD-1.iso with the graphical installer as well (swiss french, crypted LVM) and I had no question about sudo...
