Bug#356672: problem installing testing release

Hi,

I seem to be having the same problem - my IDE devices mount fine but
I've got a bunch of SATA disks connected to a RAID controller which
presents the RAID5 array as a SCSI disk and /dev/sda1 fails to mount.

After a little more investigation it looks like the fsck was failing as
it seemd to be trying to fsck before the device wasmounted or even detected!

try modifying your fstab so it doesn't automatically fsck the disk (that
is change the last param on the /dev/sda1 line to 0 (zero) and reboot.

If you are experiencing the same problem as I am the system should boot
properly but you may have to manually mount the partition.

Once it's booted try mount to check if the device has mounted if not try a

mount -a

and check with mount again - this time you should see the device mounted
properly...

Sorry for being verbose - not sure what level to pitch this :o)

Alex.
