This is one of the bugs in partconf/partititoner. I seemed to remember
it was reported to the BTS, but I haven't found it there (the
information is probably hidden in a multi-problem report).
The idea is to kill the DVH-bootfiles-as-logical-volumes misfeature in
libparted (which is trickier than it appears) and then to switch d-i
to partman, which is used on most other architectures.
