booting debian-installer b2 from usb memory stick
having some trouble booting di-b2 from a 128MB usb memory stick. i did
the following:
- downloaded hd-media-image.img
- dd if=hd-media-image.img of=/dev/sdb1
- install-mbr /dev/sdb
- changed first boot device to USB-ZIP
though hd-media-image.img is about 128MB, i only see about 3.3MB on the
stick:
# cd /mnt/tmp2
# du -hs *
2.0K disk.lbl
2.0K f1.txt
2.0K f10.txt
2.0K f2.txt
2.0K f3.txt
2.0K f4.txt
2.0K f5.txt
2.0K f6.txt
2.0K f7.txt
2.0K f8.txt
2.0K f9.txt
2.5M initrd.gz
8.0K ldlinux.sys
708K linux
2.0K syslinux.cfg
2.0K syslinux.txt
i did try booting anyway - the little red light on the stick blinks like
crazy as if it's being accessed, but nothing happens. i gave it about
ten minutes then rebooted.
any suggestions?
