Try the new module from http://people.debian.org/~blade/install/preload/
and PLEASE report the result.

Gruss/Regards,
Eduard.

Warning: kernel-module version mismatch: FastTrak.o was compiled for
2.4.20 while this kernel is version 2.4.20-bf2.4

This module was not produced by me, and looks like you own creating,
right? Please use kernel-headers-2.4.20-bf2.4 then. OTOH, it should
still load, since insmod is called with -f and the message above is just
a warning. Are you really sure that it failed, did you look at the
kernel messages?

That's the module from http://people.debian.org/~blade/install/preload/
in combination with the latest boot-floppies from
http://people.debian.org/~blade/bf3024/ - and the bf-frontend says
"insmod failed". I have to say that I haven't looked if it was loaded or
not...

But the preload-image is called 2.4.18bf2.4_promise_modules.bin, so there
must be something wrong. I'll try it with non-bf2.4-floppies, perhaps that
will work?

It may work with kernel-2.2x, at least the Makefile mentions it.

My fault, thought there are no 2.2.x floppies anymore at
http://people.debian.org/~blade/bf3024/, and bf2.4 is just with ext3 and
so... I'll try to build my own FastTrak.o 4 kernel-headers-2.4.20-bf2.4,
maybe that 'll work...
