Hi again.
I've finally been able to sit down a bit and look at this. I'm not
really sure, but I have a feeling that this is perhaps a kernel
problem. The problem is at least that all commands seem to segfault
about 80% of the time. That is, a given command will work as planned
once in a while, while giving a segfault most of the time.
If I boot with init=/bin/sh, I get a shell. And if I mount /proc
manually, and quarrel with the various commands, I have actually been
able to get as far as to download the drivers and rescue files off the
net. Installing them doesn't work at all, since I don't know how to
do that external to dbootstrap but that's life.
Does there exist any earlier kernels that I could boot from and try
to get to work? Or any instructions as to how to build my own? This
is my only sparc box at the time, so I would need to cross-compile the
kernel.
