Bug#59329: OK to close (ppp problems)

This seems to be fine in bf 2.2.8.

I'm not sure if mixing kernels was (and could still be) responsible for the
problem; I tried mixing kernels in 2.2.8 and did not succeed.  I also hope
to revise the docs to make it even less likely that someone would do such a
thing.

I am the original submitter of the bug.  Unless someone else wants to keep
it alive (someone said they thought they had seen similar behavior), I think
the bug should be closed (or at least taken off the critical list).
