Booting Alpha from a CD

Just add the paramaters after the kernel filename:
- at the aboot> promtp for SRM
-  boot dev:<kernelfilename> for MILO

Unfortunately there is no inird support in the Alpha kernels, and
bootloaders.

As a replacement for the debian CD if you specify
both "root=<cdrom-device>" and "load_ramdisk=1", the Debian-supplied
kernels will use some info in the boot headers of the iso image to
load in a ramdisk the root image which is on the CD.
