Hello,

I fear that we should begin with checking possible license issues.

For example the source tarball comes with a directory
julius/libsent/src/adin whose author is Akinobu LEE, and the copyrights
are:
  * Copyright (c) 2004-2005 Shikano Lab., Nara Institute of Science and Technology
  * Copyright (c) 2005-2007 Julius project team, Nagoya Institute of Technology
  * All rights reserved

Unfortunately, the license is unknown, is it?

Best regards,			Georges.
Hi!

The license is not unknown. The julius/ subdirectory is a fork of the Julius project that incorporates a couple of bugfixes.

The whole julius/ directory is distributed under the Julius license (included in julius/LICENSE.txt). It is also available here: http://julius.sourceforge.jp/LICENSE.txt

This is also explained in my preliminary copyright file.

One of the changes is an improved portaudio adin, btw. adin_portaudio_orig is the original verison and not used but included for reference. (he reported a bug in adin_portaudio_orig before)

The Julius license is very similar to the original BSD license.

simon is licensed under the GPL but does include an exception to be linked to Julius.

Regards,
Peter
