They are not part of our project. I had to fork their software because upstream was too slow to incorporate important patches (crash bugs). After delaying the release of 0.2 for quite some time we decided to include a patched version with simon. Moreover we needed shared libraries and the standard Julius distribution doesn't build them.

The patch has been publicly available since then but still wasn't integrated (more than a year later).

There are other quite big problems with Julius (calling exit() in the shared libraries causing simond to quit is just one of them) but it seems that the project is not very active anymore...

Yes I know. This is actually conflicting with the package I'm building (appropriate tags are already in debian/control).

Maybe our patches to Julius could be cleaned up and integrated there in the long term.
