SPI NM
Here are my comments from an AM perspective. I jsut when through the
site as I would if I were intending to work on applications, and noted
what was missing, etc. I'll do the same from an applicants perspective.
Other people's input from the applicant perspective would be useful at
this point as well. Please go to http://nm.spi-inc.org and try
applying, and send comments to spi-general. Please note that these
applications are trials and will be deleted before the system goes live.
- when I first log in with my AM account, I get the membership statius
information. There are several entry fields there which chould not
be, as this should be an information only page.
Expiration, AM and contrib member fields should be printed, not
editable, and the update button should not be there. The email field
too. All editing should be on the 'details' page.
Also: when I 'reload' the page, I see 'is manwoo' at the top before
the 'NOTE!!...' Whassat?
- when I click on an applicant from 'your applicants', I see the
membership status for that person. What I don't see is when the email
check succeeded. Again, all the input fields here should only be
printed. All editing should be on the 'details' page only.
Also: add a 'back' button to the bottom of the page since a browser
'back' action causes a "This document resulted from a POST operation
and has expired from the cache. If you wish you can repost the form
data to recreate the document by pressing the reload button. "
- on the 'details' page, could 'last changed' also contain the person
who made the last change?
Also: why can the application date be edited? This should
- the details page should have a 'delete application' button at the
bottom.
- the 'applying for contrib membership' with 'You cannot apply for
another user' shouldn't be there.
- the details page shoudl contain all the info from the status page as
well; this page shoudl have _all_ the details fo the app.
- 'Contrib Mem Application' is checkable and uncheckable on this page.
Why? the non-contrib is handled automatically, so there should be no
need to edit this field.
That's all for now. Any chance of getting this done this week? The
system's really close to usable now, and we have a board meeting on Aug
6 for which it would be nice to have it finished enough to decide to let
debianers in to debug it further. At that point we can talk about
membership criteria in a little more detail as well, and get e
membership ctte together.
THanks a lot!!
Nils.
